Register Now > (Early Bird Pricing Ends January 18)

The 2026 Faith and Culture Conference brings together scholars, practitioners, and community members to discuss disability, neurodivergence, and the church. The conference features keynote addresses from Dr. Grant McCaskill, Lightfoot Professor of Divinity at Durham University and Dr. Thomas Boehm, Director of Wheaton Center for Faith and Disability at Wheaton College and Founder & Director of Faith for ALL.

In addition to the keynotes, the event will host paper panels and workshops with presentations from PBA students, disability ministries, and Dr. Lamar Hardwick, the “Autism Pastor.”  These discussions are intended to create meaningful dialogue and provide practical resources for church and community leaders and everyone interested in the intersection of faith and disability.

During the workshops and panel presentations, local vendors and support services will be set up to share about the work they do to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers. Join us on the Baxter Green to engage with the excellent work of these local organizations.

On the evening of February 19, we invite you to join us for an inclusive worship service led by PBA faculty, staff, and students. This will be an opportunity to engage insights from the day’s presentations and experience worship from new points of view.

We look forward to welcoming you to the 2026 Faith and Culture Conference: Reimagining Wholeness and Holiness.

The conference is a joint effort between PBA’s Community Transformation Center and the School of Ministry.

Ecology, Faith and Justice: Stewardship in a changing climate

The Ecology, Faith and Justice Conference brought together nearly 100 attendees to discuss creation care and stewardship in our changing climate. The conference featured keynote addresses from Dr. Norman Wirzba, Professor of Theology and Ecology at Duke Divinity School;  Rev. Dr. Jessica Moerman, President & CEO of the Evangelical Environmental Network; and  Dr. Thomas Chesnes, Professor of Biology at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

In addition to the keynotes, the event hosted three paper panels with presentations from PBA students, Knox Theological Seminary, and two international guests.  These discussions sparked meaningful dialogue about the interconnectedness of caring for the planet and caring for others.

Attendees had the opportunity to not only engage with insightful teachings during the keynote sessions but also to immerse themselves in nature. Activities included a boat tour of the Lake Worth Lagoon, a visit to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, and a special appearance by Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, which brought four rescued animals to the PBA campus.

The conference’s evening ecology fair and panel discussion showcased local organizations and provided attendees with the chance to learn about the important work being done in the South Florida area. Exhibitors included: Green the ChurchBeach Bucket FoundationManatee LagoonReef InstitutePEACE (People Engaged in Active Community Efforts)Evangelical Environmental NetworkCROS Ministries, and the Florida Trail Association. One of the highlights of the fair was a performance by the PBA Dance Ensemble, which presented a special commission set to a prayer for World Environment Day.

We look forward to continuing these essential conversations and brainstorming how we, as a community, can take further steps to protect creation.
